The Teasel

A few years ago I was delighted to find one of my favourite plants growing alongside a little path in Harling Point.  I had thought that this was quite an isolated spot but as soon as I sat down to draw, this little path became a thoroughfare....joggers, dogs with their humans and children, it was a fun afternoon and resulted in this little drawing. The Teasel has not returned since, a mystery. - Susan

Chinese Cemetery at Harling Point

Within a ten-minute walk from our home is an historic Chinese Cemetery at Harling Point in Oak Bay – a suburb where Chinese were once not allowed to buy residential property. It is anchored by a rather daunting looking ceremonial altar which looks out onto the Straight of Georgia.
